AWeber Competition Results

March 15, 2008 Posted under: Making Money Online by Caroline Middlebrook

email course project

A little over a week ago I launched a project to start an email course on StumbleUpon and as part of that project I created a little competition to win me as your referral for AWeber. To enter the competition contestants had to write a post related to link building.

Trackbacks aren’t showing up in my theme at the moment (I’ll be fixing that shortly - just need to whip up a little php code) but I still see all of them. Here are the entries:

I enjoyed reading all of the entries but both Mark’s and Case’s entries stood out. Case outlined a very neat trick for helping your list go viral by offering others a way of promoting your list using their own links. Mark’s entry had me laughing out loud and it was so original and he’d obviously really put the effort in!

I can only sign up once so there can only be one winner as they say :) The winner is…. Mark Mason! Congratulations Mark :) It was the sheer originality and the obvious effort you put in that won me over. By the time this post gets published you should have a new AWeber referral.

Thanks to everybody who entered.

Brainstorming a Course Name

I’ve been mulling over what to name this course so I thought I’d throw it out to you lot to see if you can come up with something better than I can which is quite likely! The course is based purely on the traffic driving aspects of StumbleUpon - it is not a general guide to SU, or about using it as a discovery tool. I’m looking for something short and catchy as I feel that branding is much better than keyword stuffing.

I already have a few ideas but I won’t publish them yet, I’ll wait and see if I get any better suggestions :)

UPDATE: I have now chosen a name and registered the domain, thanks for your entries! (Announcement to be made on March 20th’s post)

Thanks, Caroline.

I’d like to start by thanking the academy, my co-stars (including Bill Shakespeare and Nostradamus), my mother… [music plays]

Seriously, I’ll be watching your progress. I have my list up already thanks to motivation from your contest.

Now, if I can just get 3.7 million opt-ins….

I like S You!

Anyway I saw you mention the contest in a post the other day, but didn’t quite have time to dig around looking for the actual contest post. Aside from that, I have no clue what AWeber is! But I will be building my own e-mail list very soon ;)

Caroline,

The course is based purely on the traffic driving aspects of StumbleUpon…

How about:

Road Tested: StumbleUpon
Zero to Sixty With StumbleUpon
StumbleUpon Blog Traffic Speed Course
Pimp Your Blog With Stumble Upon (a little off-color or a little car reference depending on who reads it)
Need for Speed: StumbleUpon in 14 Days (or whatever time)
Blazing Blog Traffic With StumbleUpon
Triple Traffic StumbleUpon Course
Jammin’ Traffic With StumbleUpon
StumbleUpon: From the Short Track to the Long Haul
The Short Track to the Victory Lap With StumbleUpon Driving

Aww, geez, I gotta stop. The auto terminology is too much fun!

Regards,

Kelly

This was not intended to be a course name, but I have just STUMBLED and the very first website was called: “Devine Caroline ……life in your words”
How’s that for a bit of coincidental irony !!

How about “I, Stumble” ? It represents the personal connection to the Stumble Upon community that needs to be created.

Or maybe “I Stumble, Therefore I AM.”
To Stumble or Not to Stumble (that is the question).
