my country Tanzania is not also accepted with clickbank,but you can try these tricks:

i)you can find a trusted friend or relative that lives in a country where clickbank send cheques and ask for his or her address and ask him or her to resend the mails to your address(i am using this)

ii)or you could use mail forwarding services,just go to google and search for such companies,though with this kind of service they charge a fee.

iii)also you could use other affiliate networks like shareasale,commission junction,paydotcom,amazon,ebay and many others.

Take a pick and see which works for you.
And caroline,interesting review,and you have a wonderful blog.

@kelly, well actually I’ve read a LOT of material about ways to determine if a niche will be profitable. There was a lot in the 30 day challenge, in Dr Mani’s Fast Niche Profits program and even in a free report I read recently (though that was about finding profitable AdSense keywords).

Thanks as always, your honesty and insights are super.

One thing you said struck me: “He gives a few resources for spotting trends but there is no information here about how to determine if a particular niche will be profitable.”

That really is the trick, isn’t it? IM is not what I do, but if we could determine whether a particular niche would be profitable in IM, we’d all do it, including me. I haven’t read the e-book, but I’d say if he’d managed to tell us that he’d have a stampede for the download.

I also think that $27 is a very good price for all you described, as long as the formatting is now up to snuff. ;) There are plenty of places online that would charge you a heck of a lot more for a similar category of info.

Keep the reviews coming, I think you have a real knack for them. They fit in perfectly with the whole mix here.

Re PPC, I’m actually glad I decided to stop using AdWords when I did, as I seem to recall Google changing their AdWords rules recently such that the visible URL has to match the actual redirect URL. That would cause me probably a couple of days of changing my AdWords setup to fix as I had many keywords leading to few ads, and each keyword leading to it’s own (product specifric) redirect URL, so glad I don’t have to do that.

I still think it’d be a good idea to run a short AdWords campaign to jumpstart a site though.

@Mark, yeah back when I did PPC in 2002 I had thousands and thousands of keywords at 1c a click – this was before AdWords was even around. These days its easy to rack up a big debt. I do intend to try PPC, especially with my own products, but not until I’ve read a good AdWords book!

@Internet Junkie, yes the hoplink problem is a problem with ClickBank. They also shouldn’t allow you to earn a commission on things you buy for yourself.

I am a clickbank affiliate and made 4 sales so far (I know it's not much) with only 1 article (OK, I chose the wrong article site and my article was subsequently removed from the site), no PPC, just 1 article, some social bookmarking and a popular product (not related to Internet marketing, all Internet marketers are already members of clickbank and would replace my hoplink by theirs!), so I guess I won't be buying that one. Just fluff this comment up a bit and I guess I could make my own e-book about making my first clickbank affiliate commission! Internet Junkie's last blog post..I Have Reached Payout!

After Caroline had mentioned the formatting of the eBook I checked it out to see what was wrong with it. I then realised when I had updated the latest release it was in the old format. Thanks for pointing that out Caroline, the formatting has been updated and uploaded to the site, I have also added bookmarks with the new update.

Mark, you’re right, it would be good to be a full time affiliate marketer and you could check you PPC campaigns all the time, however it is difficult when doing it part time.

@Steven -- No doubt you are correct. I guess my problem with PPC really comes down to the idea that a PPC campaign requires daily care and feeding. If Joe Newguy comes in and bids $700 per click at 3AM, he can cause me to need to rethink my campaign. As a part time internet based business guy, I have needed to focus on things that are more "fire and forget." My boss does not want me adjusting my keyword bids during important customer meetings (LOL). So, I guess my bias against PPC is really more about my own situation than anything else. Mark, you can augment your organic search efforts with PPC, and you can use the tools provided by Google to roughly know how much your spend will be, I think it’s well worth the effort, I would also use Yahoo Search Marketing which has proved lucrative for me.

Ben I agree it can be difficult to master however once you can the knack you are set for almost any campaign.

Mubin I have seen eBooks priced at a lot more for a lot less.

@Mark: I first used AdWords on my shop site, and I have to admit it quite a learning curve. It’s not very hard to get it up and running, but running effectively is a whole other story.

I’ve since stopped using it as my organic search clicks have picked up and some number crunching revealed that not only were they more profitable leads, but while sales/AdWords-cost was small, AdWords-derived-sales/AdWords-cost wasn’t.

Having said that I strongly suspect (it’s hard to prove these things either way isn’t it) that my initial use of AdWords (from more or less the first day the site was up) helped speed up it’s initial listing in organic search – well Google anyway, which accounts for over 90% of my search clicks.

When I get off my project jumping arse and actually set up a niche site I’ll try and monitor it.

Thanks for this review. I am always tempted to experiment with these various PPC affilliate schemes.

However…

As a part-time internet entrepreneur, I am very much NOT in favor of anything that involves Adwords. My brief experience with PPC ia that it takes lots of time and attention, and it is really easy to screw up. Like you, I prefer to get “organic” affiliate sales.

Having said that, I think you can make lots of money quickly in the PPC game. Might be interesting to try for a couple of days over a vacation or something.
