Top 17 Cheesy Internet Marketing Publicity Photos

July 15, 2008 Posted under: Miscellaneous by Caroline Middlebrook

I’m having a little bit of fun today… many of us like to bash the Internet Marketing industry for being a bit on the sleazy side but have you ever stopped to look at the publicity photos used by the top marketers in the industry? They’re cheesy as heck! This is my list of most cheesy Internet Marketing publicity shots!

17 – John Reese

Aww he actually looks like a rather sweet shy-boy. You could take him home to your mother don’t you think? No cheddar here.

16 – John Chow

Considering the stick that John gets for his work, I actually find him to be a very down to earth guy. Evil maybe, cheesy not really.

15 – Mark Joyner

A fairly harmless pose, it’s just that slight “ooh make sure you catch my good side” tilt of the head that bumps him up a notch!

14 – Rosalind Gardner

The only woman on the list! Rosalind flashes confident crack-proof smile.

13 – Yaro Starak

I’m one of Yaro’s biggest fans and he is about as real as they come but this picture with the laid back “hands in pocket” look is at least at Edam on the cheesy scale.

12 – Yanik Silver

The smile on Yanik’s face seems very natural but the laptop adds cheesiness to the overall effect.

11 – Armand Morin

Armand perfects the slight head tilt that Mark Joyner didn’t quite get right and adds in some neat arm-folding action to complete the look.

10 – Brad Fallon

We’re getting to the experts now. The haircut, the smile, the suit – classic brochure material.

9 – Ed Dale

Now Ed is not a cheesy guy at all, but what is with that grin? Seriously!

8 – Rick Schefren

It’s all in the smile and once again that ever-popular slight head tilt.

7 – Rick Butts

I had to include Rick in the list after he demanded to be put there :-) However to give him his due, he does in fact have a very cheesy pose. Not only does he do the head on knuckles thing very well but there’s a twinkle in the eyes of that smile – though I’m not sure if that’s cheese or something more sinister!

6 – Joe Vitale

Now we’re getting somewhere. Instead of the big wide grin, Joe opts for a philosophical “thinker” look with the carefully placed hand-on-chin strategy.

5 – Mike Keonigs

How exciting – we have a prop! With this pose Mike demonstrates that he owns the chair.

4 – Joel Comm

Joel is another marketer who emphasises the smile, and doesn’t he do it well!

3 – Jeff Walker

Jeff takes several tactics – a great smile, the head tilt and throws in a professional backdrop to complete the look!

2 – Mike Filsaime

Welcome to my world! Doesn’t that hand gesture just make you want to whip out your credit card right now?

1 – Marlon Sanders

There couldn’t possibly have been another winner. Marlon not only takes the smile to the next step and turn it into a “rwarr!”, but he uses the good old fist as well. Oooh yeah, get’s me all fired up *shiver*.

It’s a shame I couldn’t find a larger picture for the winner!

So, what do you think of my rankings? Would you put them in a different order? Did I miss anybody from the list?
