No Internet in Florida Villa – Argh!

That sucks when they say one thing and they don’t have it. Most hotels will only have wireless in the main area of the hotel. I stayed in Howard johnson when I went to florida for a night that said they had wireless and it was in their main area. Greg Ellison

I feel your pain, Caroline. When we moved to CA in a rural area I was on dialup for a couple of months. I forgot how horrible that was so I would also go to the local Internet cafe.

Sorry to hear that, but hopefully you can have a bit more of a relaxing vacation. Sometimes it’s good to unplug for a few days!

You are in Florida, so there should be plenty of places around with free wifi. Panera Bread, for instance, has free wifi (and comfy chairs) at all their locations. Starbucks also offers free wifi if you have a Starbucks card.

No reason to resort to using someone else’s computer when you can find many places around to use your laptop.

Virgin also offers a Broadband2Go service with plans for a few days at a time so you can get Internet access anywhere there is cellular data service. I have the Sprint version and it’s pretty fast — about 1.5Mbit down.

@Greg, we’re not in a hotel tho – this villa place is like a residential housing estate, there’s no central area.

@Erica, the problem is I am here with my brother who is the driver. He did take me to an internet cafe a couple of times but got fed up with that!

@Ravi, it’s not working that I miss – it’s talking to a certain special someone back home who I’m missing like crazy!

I had to do that on a recent holiday as well :) Good to see you got around this problem like all focuses bloggers would.
