Learn How to Build a Profitable Blog And Flip It In One Month

June 6, 2008 Posted under: Making Money Online by Caroline Middlebrook

John Cow and Garry Conn have got together to create a very unique competition. They are competiting against each other to create a profitable blog from scratch and sell it after just one month. The blog that sells for the highest amount wins the competition. John Cow has also pledged to donate all the proceeds of his blog sale to World Vision.

Learn The Techniques & Win $27,000+ of Prizes!

To make it more interesting, the guys have also decided to offer prizes to anybody who registers interest in the event. All of the prizes are Internet Marketing related and we’re talking some seriously impressive products here including Jeff Walker’s Product Launch Formula. I paid over $2000 for that myself! (Yes it’s good stuff in case you were wondering.)

The competition started on May 19th and ends on June 18th so they are already be well underway with their respective blogs. John Cow in particular has been blogging very extensively about his progress with some incredibly detailed posts - just the kind of thing I like to see. Incidentally, the ownership of John Cow changed hands a little while ago which accounts for the change in style in recent postings.

Here’s a video I made about some of the prizes on offer:

Thanks Caroline. That was really helpful. I’ve seen the prizes and following the comp but being a “newbie”, had no idea what most of the prizes were about.

Nice to hear your voice too. :)

The competition that Cow and Garry are holding are simply huge! The way they’re marketing everything is very smart and I’ve actually learned a bit from all the competition :P

You paid 2k for a launch formula? And what made it be worth 2k if I may ask?

I deleted Chows feed a long time ago from my reader :)
Sometimes he has a nice post, but for most part, junk spam and ads.

What makes it worth 2K??? Lynn Terry just posted on that topic: “Marketer Sets The Price, Buyer Determines Value” over at http://www.clicknewz.com/1547/price-vs-value/

very thought provoking (to me anyway) megan

Doing the 30dc this year and not using flock as your browser in the video? How are you going to explain that? … No excuses ;-)

Wow. $2000 for a digital product? I’m sorry, but I feel like they are taking you for a ride regardless :( . Other than that, great post! I think a lot of people can stand to benefit from joining into this competition, so it’s great to let people know.

The #1 “rumor” I’ve heard so far is that Gary IS the new cow ;)

@Stefson, this is by John COW, not Chow :-) I haven’t finished Product Launch Formula yet and I won’t be able to determine it’s value until I have launched my product. If I make back the price of the course (ideally double it) then it’s worth the money, if not, it’s not - simple as that.

@Megan, as I said to Stefson, with a product that promises you help you make money it is very easy to determine what it is worth - you ask the question, “how much money did I make with this product?”. Such a product shoud pay for itself multiple times over on the first use.

@Koen, I haven’t done that video yet hehe.

Wow, nice to hear the voice that goes along with the picture - rather different to what I expected :0)

How do you evaluate what to pay $2000+ for - how do you evaluate whether you’ll win an ROI? It seems like a bit of a gamble, for a quite a decent sum…

@Web Design, well I plan to launch at least 3 products over the next year so PLF is a product that I can put to use. I won’t know whether or not it was worth the money until I’ve done my launches though. It is a gamble…

Will be very intresting to see if You get Your money back from the PLF investment.

As in all business everyone need to invest to grow. Other invest with money or time or both.

After the investment is done the ROI can be calculated. But! if this investment can be used over and over and over the ROI of that investment needs to be re-calculated after every use of the investment.
