Installation With Simple Scripts

This is part #2 of a series of 10 videos. Click here to access the full series. The PDF download of the original ebook is also still available.

This video guides you through the process of creating a new WordPress installation on your hosting account using Simple Scripts software. This should be found on any web host that uses cpanel as their control panel. I use and recommend BlueHost for WordPress hosting.

The test site in question is called Cigar Heaven.

One thing that I feel should be mentioned is that the administrative login and password are given to you on that confirmation screen where you clicked to open the site in a new window. The administrative login and password aren’t going to be autopopulated like they were when you visited the site (that was the data saved locally from one of your other blogs) - so for people setting that up make sure that you take a note of what the password is that is generated so that you can log in and change it later.

Another nice post, Caroline. You are getting really good with Camtasia. I would think you would do a niche site on Earl Gray tea or Crumpets — not cigars.

Anyway, according to spyfu, cigar pays up to $1.06 per click compared to $0.45 for playdough. So, you are moving in the right direction. :)

@Blaine, simple scripts send you an email with the login details anyway.

@pening, please watch video 1 - there is NO money marking part! This is about setting up WordPress, not about making money. The only reference to money is how to configure AdSense on your theme.

@Mark, lol, I just picked a subject from some crappy PLR pack that I got that had a few articles in it :-) This site is not real heh.

Fair play Caroline. You are the Queen of misleading titles. It’s natural that folks are going to expect you to teach them some “money making” techniques when you decide to name your vlog series “Developing Money Making Niche Sites With WordPress 2.6”. Very confusing for your average reader wouldn’t you agree.

Why not simply call it something like “How To Set-up A Blog With WordPress 2.6”…

This was the BIG problem with your ebook Caroline. It’s a good book on how to install and set-up a blog but with an obscenely misleading title.

@jeremy The difference between this video and one provided by the hosting service is that you can actually talk to Caroline to get her perspective on why she set up the site the way she did. Again, this is targeted toward setting it up to include adsense.

@caroline I followed the steps in your e-book, and am getting about $15 per month on my first blog. I am looking forward to learning more tips in the video series.

@Ian, to be quite honest, when I wrote the ebook I deliberately put that phrase in to get more downloads. It worked heh. I’m not going to change the title now as that would just confuse people and they would think it was a new product.

Yes Caroline, it’s call “Bait and Switch” which isn’t the most honest way you can choose to make money.

I really love your videos and your ebook. I have a question.Towards the end of the video you said that you were going to show us how to point your site to the new domain ‘Cigar Heaven’ I couldn’t find anymore information on the subject. I have a niche site and want to install a second niche site with a new domain name using Simple Scripts on my cpanel. How do I go about it?
Thanks
William
