Caroline’s Favourite Links #7
Oh Bugger I had scheduled this post to appear yesterday (Saturday) and I forgot to hit the sodding publish button! Ooops, oh well I’m not wasting a post…
Over the past few weeks I have not been working full time and it is things like blog reading that has been taking a backseat. Yesterday I installed the new version of my reader FeedDemon (which is now Free! see below) and this morning it kindly informed me that I had 5,185 unread items! Okay so there are several feeds that I subscribe to and have no intention of ever reading but that is still quite bad!
So for today I simply had a quick flick through a bunch of my favourite blogs and picked out some cool looking links to post. I will be doing some more catching up soon :-)
FeedDemon Is Now Free! - FeedDemon is an offline RSS reader and it has one feature that I absolutely LOVE - it synchronises with a free Newsgator account so allows you to keep your feeds synchronised across multiple computers. I bought it a few months ago but the latest version 2.6 has just been made free. Grab it now!
Make Money With ClickBank, Starting an Ebook Business - This post from Ryan Shamus outlines a method of making money by writing (paid) ebooks and selling them through ClickBank. The advantage of this method is that the use of CB provides an army of affiliates at your fingertips.
How to Start a Business on a Budget - Yaro Starak has been in business for many years and in this post he goes into depth about how to start a business cheaply. If you don’t have money then you’d better have some free time!
17 Ways You Can Use Twitter - DoshDosh provides a cool guide for beginners, marketers and business owners to using Twitter. It’s covers a very different angle to my own Twitter Guide.
Introduction to Keyword Sniping - As far as I am aware Keyword Sniping is a concept invented by Courtney Tuttle who wrote this article. This particular post is quite old but since then he has gone on to release a theme, extend the concept to double sniping and produce several case studies. I can tell I’m starting to think like a marketer because seeing this much information on a unique topic makes me think it would make a great ebook :-)
How to Get 1,100 Subscribers in 5 Days - I noticed this week that my own subscriber numbers finally hit 1,100 which I was very chuffed about - not bad for a little under 5 months. Trust Skellie to put a dampner on things by doing it in just 5 days! Just kidding Skellie, a great post :-)
When Should You Monetize Your Website? - An interesting question posed from Vandelay Design. The first approach is to get traffic first and monetize later (as used on this blog) and the second is to monetize from day 1 which I used on my niche site. Of course you have to make your own decision based on your unique circumstances.
One Simple Way to Generate More Comments to Your Blog - I love getting comments from readers on this blog so I found this post from CopyBlogger to be very useful. I won’t spoil the surprise…
Why Your Readers Read Your Blog - Wayne Liew serves up lots of food for thought with this post that urges you to really think about why people actually read your blog. To be quite honest, it’s something I never really thought about - I just write stuff and hope for the best most of the time!
How to Create and Market an Ebook Part #3 - Grr, I am irritated with myself that I managed to totally miss this series from my buddy Josh Spaulding. Still, it’s not too late… don’t miss part #1 and part #2 also. I’ll be taking a closer look at these next week and applying anything I learn to my own recent ebook release.
How the Cat Wakes You Up in the Morning - A completely off-topic YouTube video that had me in stitches. If you have a cat then you might find it amusing. If you don’t like cats then skip this one!

Alot of great resources there. Thanks for those and the plug of my ebook creation series. I’m still keeping up with you and have been continuing to read your blog. I’ve just been a bit quiet lately.
Keep up the good work.
