Caroline’s Favourite Links #12
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums (moms!) out there! Here’s my links for today:
I Paid 12 Months to Learn These 32 Things - Carl Ocab is a 14 year old blogger who has been making money online for a whole year. This post highlights 32 things that he has learned in the first year of his blog.
Finding New, Freshly Squeezed Content For Your Blog - This post by Tibi Puiu is not the first to be written about finding inspiration for your blog posts but it’s always nice to see a fresh perspective on it and this particular post is very comprehensive, I liked it a lot.
A Fast Way to Add Photos To Your Blog (PhotoDropper) - This one is actually a WordPress plugin which allows you to search for Flickr photos with the Creative Commons license right from within your WordPress post. It’s so easy to use and it also adds in the proper credit for you. I’ve installed it but haven’t used it on this blog yet but it’s very cool. I’d say this is a new must-have plugin for all WordPress bloggers.
The Best of Both Worlds: Useful and Profitable - Ben Cook from Blogging Experiment has done a critique of a series of posts by CopyBlogger that I linked to last week and has shown how that post is both useful for the reader and profitable for the author. These are the posts to strive for if you want to make money with your blog.
Internal Linking: META nofollow, rel nofollow, robots.txt Confusion - Another highly useful post by SEO expert Josh Spaulding that explains a bunch of technical stuff that I really should know more about! Great stuff Josh.
Stop With the Stupid Scare Tactics - Dr Mani shows us many of the common scare tactics that are often used in sales copy by many Internet Marketers and shows us why this strategy simply is not necessary. I agree wholeheartedly with everything Dr Mani says in this post.
Do NoFollow Links Count? Redux - Michelle MacPhearson is an expert at building backlinks to your site and has recently released a new product called 30 Minute Backlinks. One issue that often leads to confusion however is whether or not links that are marked with ‘nofollow’ are worth getting. Michelle reveals her conclusions in this post.
How to Use PayPal Shops to Find Hot Selling Products - Making money online usually boils down to figuring out what people want and then finding a way to sell it to them. In this post Yaro Starak shows us a cool way to find actual products that are selling well using PayPal shops.
Let Your Server Update Your Copyright Year - A great find from my CommentLuv plugin this week! This post comes from MadLid of Blogwell and explains how we can get our server to update the Copyright year automatically rather than typing it into the text area of our blog. I didn’t even know that was possible!
