This is part #2 of a series of 10 videos. Click here to access the full series. The PDF download of the original ebook is also still available.

This video guides you through the process of creating a new WordPress installation on your hosting account using Simple Scripts software. This should be found on any web host that uses cpanel as their control panel. I use and recommend BlueHost for WordPress hosting.

The test site in question is called Cigar Heaven.

Developing Money Making Niche Sites With WordPress 2.6: Video #1 - Introduction

wordpress ebookIntroduction to the Video Series

This is part #1 of a series of 10 videos. Click here to access the full series. The PDF download of the original ebook is also still available.

I wrote the PDF version of this ebook back in November and since then I have updated it many times but once WordPress 2.5 came out the book became impossible to update - a re-write was necessary.

It’s somewhat cumbersome to demonstrate how to build a website using just text and pictures and so I have decided to re-do the book as a series of videos which should be much easier to learn from. I’ll also include some notes along side the videos with relevant links and so on.

In this first video I introduce the video series, and discuss what I will be covering and what I won’t be covering. I also explain what my definition of a ‘niche site’ is.

I Have a Webcam! See the Face Behind the Blog :-)

Well I couldn’t hide away behind my words forever! I got a headset a long time ago and I’ve done the occasional podcast and more recently, some podcasts but I really wanted to be able to do some ‘talking head’ style videos and so I got myself a webcam.

This video is basically just me saying hello and discussing what’s coming up on the blog during August.

The end of July and beginning of August is a busy time for Internet Marketing! Lots of stuff going on so I thought I’d just lump it all together in a single post:

Teaching Sells Closes It’s Doors Thursday 31st July

Teaching Sells is a membership site designed to teach you how to build your own membership site in which you teach other people something. I wrote an in-depth review of it recently. It has been going for around 9 months and they have now put together 10 complete courses which amounts to an absolute ton of material. However on July 31st they are closing their doors to new members, and re-formatting all the content to re-launch with a minimum price tag of $997. So this is your last chance to get in at $97 per month which is the current price.

Brian and Tony Clark (not related!) have written a post to explain exactly why they are closing and what the future holds. Read their article here.

I joined Teaching Sells as a charter member back in October and have kept my membership ever since but I haven’t been through much of the content. The initial courses guide you towards researching your markets for profitability and so on but I just couldn’t come up with an idea that felt right so I never got off the ground with my own membership site.

Blog Mastermind Re-Opens Tuesday 29th July

As one door closes another one opens! Yaro’s Blog Mastermind is re-opening on Tuesday and that will also cost $97 a month or you can buy the entire materials up front for a one off payment of $497. As a run up to the launch Yaro has been creating some videos and he’s just published another two videos today. These ones focus on the actual money that he makes from his blog.

In the first video he shows exactly how he makes money and in the second video he shows you the proof just in case you don’t believe the numbers! If you’ve missed the earlier free content that he has put out here is the recap:

Thirty Day Challenge Starts Friday 1st August

The Thirty Day Challenge is a very special live course (completely free of charge) that runs throughout the month of August and aims to teach absolute newbies a way to make their first dollar online and show them how they can start their own online business. I took part last year and it was that which prompted me to quit my job, start this blog and begin my new career! I recently wrote a post explaining exactly what the Thirty Day Challenge is and how it affected me.

The training officially kicks off on the 1st August but since the beginning of June they have been putting out free training videos about all the tools that will be used throughout the challenge. If you haven’t started yet then sign up and get stuck into the pre-season. There are currently 11 videos but don’t worry, none of them take very long - around 15 minutes each so there is plenty of time to catch up.

My New Blog is Live

I wasn’t going to launch my new blog until next week but I noticed that some sneaky people managed to find it all by themselves and I have subscribers already! So, I have brought it forward a week instead. I have written six posts and back dated them so it looks like I started the blog two weeks ago! Check it out here:

Life Should Feel GOOD!

Also, as part of the launch of this blog, I have now developed a free email course called The Bloggers Bible, which is all about building a brand new blog from scratch and in some places I will be documenting the steps I have taken both with this blog and the new one.

Blog Mastermind Student Rakes in $50,000 a Month From His Blog!

And I thought John Chow was the richest blogger around with his pathetic $30k a month :-) Alborz Fallah runs an Australian specific car blog that was pulling in over $50,000 a month and that was a year ago! I boggle at how much he must be earning now!

Alborz is a Blog Mastermind student and Yaro has interviewed him and made the interview available as an audio download or PDF transcript. Check it out for some inspiration :-)
